Dear Mr. Garman:

	This is to confirm the facts as stated by Professor Davis
concerning the inoperability of the car rented from you.  He called
me from the home of someone who picked him up at the exit of
the freeway when the car broke down.  I picked him up there,
and we went to the car and tried to start it.  We seemed to
almost succeed, but in the end we had to push it off the freeway
to a place at the bottom of the hill on top of which I live.
I can also confirm his repeated efforts to call you about the car.

	We have many visitors to our Laboratory who rent cars, and
this is the first time one of them has had such trouble with a
car rental agency.
